At Stacey and Sara's suggestion, we decided to go to Hana via the north part of the island, through Napili and Kahakuola.  This was a slightly longer route, but very worth it.  With the exception of the area around the airport, the north half of the island seems far more rural and remote.  Based off of the visual landmarks and looking at a map of the island, I believe this is Honolua Bay.  If that is the case, the beaches you see here (from forefront to background) are Slaughterhouse, DT Fleming, and Oneloa.  The pine trees in the background are part of one of the many golf areas in Kapalua.  From what I've read, Kapalua courses are very difficult due to their high winds.
