A partially-sunk boat in Lahaina Harbor. This boat has an interesting story – a few years ago, the owner of the boat was trying to get into the harbor, but the locals warned him that the water was too shallow to dock. He didn't listen and attempted to enter. Sure enough, coral scraped the bottom of his boat and he had to abandon ship. Apparently, he lived on the boat, and couldn't afford to get it pulled out, so he lost everything. By the time someone could get it towed out, coral had grown into the boat, making it part of the coral reef below. Because it was part of the reef, they had to leave it there. Moral of the story? Always listen to the locals – especially if you can't afford to be wrong!
