What an experience - our first foreign vacation. We were there for 10 days and visited Milan, Florence, the Cinque Terre, Rome (including Vatican City), and Venice. Each of the cities was in a different region, and they are just as different from each other as the regions in the various regions in the US. They all have their own regional foods, pace of life, and atmosphere. They all do have some things in common though: amazing art, architecture, and scenery. While we did see a lot, there is still so much left that we haven't seen. Next time we visit we will have to check out Naples, Pompeii, Reggio di Calabria (the tip of the boot), and Sicily, but still leave some time to go back to Florence and the Cinque Terre.
