There are a few important things to know about the memorial in terms of what to bring and what to wear. They do not allow ANY bags into the memorial – diaper bags, purses and camera bags are all prohibited. There is a company that rents out lockers nearby, and I was pleased to discover that they don't charge as high as they could to store your stuff. We had to bring purses and bags since we flew out for the day, so this was a necessity. In terms of dress, obviously swimsuit-type clothing is a big no-no. It is a memorial, so you want to be respectful. Because it is a warm place, they do allow shorts and flip-flops, however. People in the military cannot wear fatigues – there is a strict military dress code to enter the memorial.
